Here are some ways you can try to fix your caching problem, in order of escalation:

  • Try holding down the Shift key while pressing the Refresh button.

  • Close your browser and re-open it (make sure you are NOT on the cached page) and delete your temporary Internet files (clear your cache). For instructions on clearing your cache, see the section below How to clear the cache in commonly used browsers:

    • Internet Explorer

    • Microsoft Edge
    • Mozilla

    • Safari for Mac

    • Safari for Windows

    • Opera

  • Restart your computer.

  • Use an alternative URL for the same location. For example, if you are going to www.yourdomain.name, you might go to your IP address instead. If you don't know any alternative URLS, ask Technical Support to provide you with one. Be sure to tell them exactly which URL you are using.

  • Use a different browser (if you use IE, try Firefox, and vice versa).

Instructions for clearing the cache of the most common browsers are listed below. If you do not see your browser listed below, please contact your software vendor for instructions on how to clear the cache.

If none of the steps above solve the problem, check with your ISP or MIS department and make sure they are not caching it. If your ISP is caching the page and they refuse to change or refresh it, you may want to consider a new ISP. It can be very difficult to perform certain activities on the web if you can't see the current version of the page.

How to clear the cache in commonly used browsers

Clearing the cache in Microsoft Internet Explorer

  1. Open your browser and and got  to Tools > Safety menu. Alternatively, you can press Ctrl+Shift+Delete to open the Delete Browsing History window (and skip step 2).
  2. Click Delete Browsing History.

  3. Select Temporary Internet Files andCookies and website data.
  4. Click the Delete button near the bottom of the window to delete your temporary files (i.e. clear your cache).

  5. If you want the browser to automatically clear the cache whenever you close it, click the Advanced tab. Under Security, click to select the box next to the optionEmpty Temporary Internet Files folder when browser is closed.

Clearing the cache in Microsoft Edge

  1. Open your browser and click on the settings button (...) in the top-right corner. In the menu that pops up, click on History.

  2. Click on the three horizontal dots again & then onClear browsing data.

  3. Set the time range to All time & select data to clear:Browsing History, Cookies and saved website data and Cached data and files. Once you are done with your selection, click the Clear now button.

Clearing the cache in Mozilla Firefox

  1. Open your browser and click on the Open Menu button at the top-right corner, then click Settings.


  2. Click Privacy & Security.  On the right side scroll down to the History section, click the Clear History button. Alternatively, you can access this menu directly by pressing Ctrl+Shift+Delete.

  3. In theTime range to clear box, select Everything.
  4. Under History, selectCache, Cookies & Active logins.
  5. Click the OKbutton.

Clearing the cache in Safari for macOS

  1. Open your browser and go to Safari > Preferences .


  2. Select Advanced Tab and check the box next to Show Develop menu in menu bar.

  3. Go back to Safari and go to Develop > Empty Caches.


Clearing the cache in Safari for Windows

  1. Once your browser is open, selectTools and clickShow Menu bar.

    Note: Apple no longer offers Safari updates for Windows. Safari 5.1.7 for Windows was the last version made for Windows, and it is now outdated.

Clearing the cache in Google Chrome

  1. Open your browser and click More (threevertical dots).
  2. Click History > History.

  4. On the next page select Cached images and files &Cookies and other site data.
  5. Under Time range, selectAll time

  1. Once your browser and go toTools > History and click Clear browsing data.
